Notes of incremental backup in failover cluster


Summary

Failover Cluster may incremental backup is not performed.
ActiveImage Protector creates a $AIPMAP for tracking the bitmap information. This file holds the bitmap information and machine ID.
If this information has not been taken over, reconcile or basic backup is performed.

There are scenarios where reconcile or Base Backup is occured.
1) Failover occurs.
2) Machine ID saved in the AIPMAP will change.
3) If reconcile function is disabled, the base backup is done.
If reconcile feature is enabled, reconcile backup is done.
4) Incremental backup is performed from the second time.

It's in the specifications.
Behavior after failback is also the same.
